Children
"But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” ~(Luke 18:16)
Children’s Ministry
At University Community Church, our Children’s Ministry is dedicated to introducing children to the love of Jesus Christ and equipping them to share that love with others. We create a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centred environment where children can grow in faith, character, and joy.
Jesus Loves Children!
Through age-appropriate Bible lessons, fun activities, and worship, kids learn about the life and teachings of Jesus in ways that are engaging and easy to understand. Our goal is to help each child develop a personal relationship with Jesus and inspire them to share their faith with family, friends, and their wider community.
Safety First
We take the safety and well-being of every child seriously. Our ministry operates under clear safeguarding policies, and all children’s workers are trained and committed to maintaining a secure and loving atmosphere. Parents are welcome to view our safeguarding policy at any time.
We warmly invite you to bring your child to experience the love, joy, and truth of Jesus at our Children’s ministry. Let them grow in faith while having fun and forming lasting friendships!

Students
"But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus." (Acts 19:9)
At University Community Church, we exist to reach students with the Gospel and walk with them as they grow into Christ-like, mission-minded leaders. Our ministry equips young people with a strong biblical foundation, practical spiritual disciplines, and leadership skills that shape how they live—on campus, at home, and in the world.
We provide Bible studies, discipleship groups, worship gatherings, prayer times, and service opportunities that help students:
-
Deepen their relationship with Jesus
-
Build meaningful Christian friendships
-
Serve others with compassion
-
Grow as leaders who influence their world for Christ
We believe that transformed students become tomorrow’s church and community leaders. By investing in them today, we help build a faithful and impactful church for the future.
Join us as we follow Jesus together and live out His mission on campus and beyond!

Marketplace
“Whatever you do, work heartily… You are serving the Lord Christ.” (Col. 3:23–24)
Gulu Faith & Work, Serving Christ in the Marketplace
Gulu Faith & Work exists to help Christians live out their faith in the marketplace. We believe work is a God-given calling, and every profession is an opportunity to serve Christ and bring His Kingdom values into business, government, education, healthcare, and the creative sectors.
Our vision is to equip believers in Gulu to be:
-
Excellent in their work, knowing they serve the Lord
-
Ethical in decision-making, showing Christlike integrity
-
Empowered to uplift others through their influence
-
Engaged in mission, seeing the workplace as a Gospel platform
Through workshops, mentorship, networking, and prayer, we help Christians integrate Sunday faith with Monday work—glorifying God and blessing our city.
Join us every Monday at Rolling Donkey from 5:30 pm.

Rooted Seminars
"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." (Col. 2:6-7, ESV).
What are Rooted Seminars?
As followers of Jesus, we are called to grow in our understanding of who God is, what He has revealed in His Word, and how we are to live in response (Colossians 2:6-7). Rooted Seminars are a weekly learning environment at University Community Church designed to help you deepen your faith, think biblically about all of life, and walk more faithfully with Christ. Rooted Seminars are not another church service, they are interactive, Scripture-rich sessions that engage both the heart and the mind. Whether you're new to the Christian faith or have been walking with Jesus for years, these seminars are a space to grow in community and be grounded in God's truth.
Time & Place
Thursdays (5:30 PM – 7:00 PM) at UCC (Bamboo Church). If you want to grow in your knowledge of God, deepen your walk with Jesus, and be equipped to live faithfully in today’s world, Rooted Seminars are for you.
Rooted Seminars: Grounded in truth, growing in faith.

Shepherd the Flock
Every year, pastors from across the region gather for Shepherd the Flock, a two-day conference dedicated to equipping and encouraging those called to lead God’s people. Rooted in the words of 1 Peter 5:2-3 (ESV), this conference reminds us of the biblical charge:
"Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock."
Over the past four years, Shepherd the Flock has grown steadily from just 40 participants to nearly 100, reflecting a deep hunger for faithful, biblical guidance in pastoral ministry. Each year, seasoned pastors, men who themselves shepherd local congregations, lead the sessions. These speakers address real-world pastoral challenges with both theological depth and practical wisdom.
Whether navigating leadership fatigue, congregational care, doctrinal clarity, or the personal holiness of the pastor, Shepherd the Flock offers a space for learning, reflection, and fellowship among those entrusted with God’s people.
The next Shepherd the Flock conference will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, 22nd & 23rd October 2026, at Elephante Common. We invite all pastors and church leaders to be part of this encouraging and impactful gathering.

Missions
At University Community Church, we are called to share the love of Christ with the campus, the city of Gulu, and the unreached.
Campus.
Our vibrant student ministry at Gulu University nurtures faith and leadership through Bible study groups, worship nights, and honest forums where students explore life and faith together. We are raising a generation of disciple-makers to impact their peers and the world for Christ.
City.
In the city, we are committed to the spiritual renewal of Gulu through partnerships with pastors and church planters. Through initiatives like the Shepherd the Flock Conference and Church in Hard Places Gulu Cohort, we equip leaders to build healthy, gospel-centered churches that bring peace and transformation to our communities.
Unreached.
We also reach beyond our borders to the Ik people in northeastern Uganda—a remote, unreached tribe near Mount Morungole. Through mission trips and tangible acts of love, we bring the gospel, practical aid, and hope to this beautiful yet forgotten people group. Join us in this mission to make Christ known where He is not yet worshipped.
